Sidney - 11 months!

UPDATED WITH PICTURES!

I only have one month until I no longer have a baby. I can't believe she is almost to the toddler stage! I can believe it in one way though....she can't sit still!

She is constantly crawling everywhere and climbing up everything! Her new favorite trick is to climb up into her blue rocker chair, turn around and plop down and sit there. With this pleased as punch look on her face. It is so cute. If the chair is close enough to either couch, she can also crawl from it and onto the couch....this doesn't please mom too much. I'm waiting for her to now fall from the couch!

She is also getting adventurous outside and has discovered that she can crawl up the slide. That little girl is going to be trouble.

And as much as Sidney is like a dog, carries toys & cups in her mouth, comes when you call her, and drools like crazy, she is also kinda like a cat in the fact that she has recently discovered how fun it is to just sit and stare out the window. If I have the blue chair in front of the window, she will crawl into it and just look out the window, babbling in excitement! :) (it reminds me of my one cat who would sit on the back of the chair and chatter at the birds outside the window!)

We were wrong in guessing that she'd be walking by 11 months. She isn't yet. She will attempt to take one step if we let go of her, but then she just falls to the ground and starts crawling the rest of the way. I'll bet again though that she will be walking before her 1st birthday!

She doesn't talk much yet with words, but still screams, squeals and babbles like crazy. I can see how she might end up taking a little while to use words....Kylie is already talking for her. Sidney has started pointing like crazy this past week though. She will point at a couple of things if I ask her where the light is or where are the cows. She really likes the cows.

I'm still signing as much as I can with her. Still waiting for her to sign back though. I don't think Kylie signed back to me until after a year though....I'd have to look it up.

I totally thought that today was the 30th, not yesterday, so these stats are from today.
She is up to 18.5 pounds. Whoo Hoo! She gained weight! 2 pounds in a month! must be the formula!
And she is still around 28.5 inches.

I went through a box of Kylie's old clothes the other night and got out all the 12-18 month stuff. I need to get through Sidney's dresser though and take out the 3-6 month stuff. She is finally too big for most of that stuff. Isn't that sad...she can still wear some 3-6 month stuff! (it's gotta be the clothing manufacturing differences between brands!)

She finally has a top tooth! It broke through on the 16th. She has been drooling like crazy! So we are up to 3 teeth now! Maybe she will have 4 by the time she is one!

We are going to buy her a new carseat so she has a bigger, probably more comfortable one for our trip out to OR in a few weeks. Her feet are already dangling out the end of her infant carseat. I think I am more excited for it than she will be though!

Sidney's favorite thing to do these days, besides climbing, is to take things out of containers and put them into other containers. I love watching her do this....you can just see the wheels turning in her head and she figures out how to get things where she wants them. I can't believe how fast they learn things and grow up....as evidence of my 4 year old!

Hope all is going well with everyone!

Got caught that morning with the Kleenex box!

Kylie - 4 years old!

UPDATED WITH PICTURES!!

My first baby is FOUR years old. I can't believe how fast these years have gone! She has become such an independent little lady. She has also developed a little attitude - probably from spending a little too much time with her momma. :)
She loves singing, and dancing, and ladybugs and butterflies. She loves playing outside and loves to swing! Coloring and doing crafts/school stuff with mom are high up on her favorite list too.

She had a small birthday party on the 25th. Invited a few playgroup friends over to play. I had two games, pin the wing on the butterfly and a piñata, but the kids didn't really care too much about them. They were having more fun just playing with each other. Which was just fine too.

They got to have some juice boxes (which they were a lot more excited about than I thought they would be) and then we got to have some cake and ice cream after they all sang happy birthday to her.
I made the piñata and it took them a little longer to break it open than I hoped, but they eventually got it and enjoyed picking up the candy, stickers and rings that I filled it with. They all loved their goodie bags and were pretty excited about the butterfly wings they got to take home with them. (Thank goodness for the Dollar Tree!!)

After a couple of hours of playing, everyone started going home. Kylie got to open up a few presents before supper and then we went and had supper. I asked her what she wanted.....she chose McDonalds. oh well. She also wanted to make sure we could eat it out. Usually if we get something to eat from town, we bring it home to eat. She really wanted to eat it in town. So we did. Then we came home and she got to open the rest of her presents. She had quite a few to open, and she loved everything!

Thanks to everyone who sent her some stuff! She spent the rest of the night playing with everything she got while she waited, not so patiently, for her mother to put together her pink and purple shopping cart. (Oh man, that was harder than it should have been!)

She had a wonderful day and so did I. I still can't believe she is 4. I have less then a year until she is in kindergarten. What am I going to do when that happens?!

I took her 4 year pictures earlier this week and got them all done. She gave me a couple of cute poses.
Can't wait till I get some printed for myself and put up in the house!

- of course I still haven't gotten the computer fixed. But I promise it will get fixed in the next few weeks. I will then go back and add pictures to the past few posts and get everything updated! -

I love her pictures! My most favorite is the second one, it truly shows her personality. Even though you can't see her face! :)

VBS

UPDATED WITH PICTURES!

This past week the girls and I have been at Vacation Bible School at our church. Kylie had a wonderful time and it has been so much fun listening to her every night attempting to sing all the songs she learned that day. It is SO Cute!

Sidney handled it very well. She thankfully would let others hold her for a few minutes so I could get something done and she even took hour long (or longer) naps each day in the church nursery! Yea! There were so many songs sung, games played, snacks had, and crafts made. It was fun.

The theme this year was Tell It On The Mountain. So the whole idea of how climbing gear keeps you safe and secure while climbing, so God keeps you safe & secure in your life.

We had tents and mountains and rocks everywhere and the last day the National Guard came and set up their climbing wall. I lot taller than I thought it would be, since we had 4yr olds - 5th graders. But all but 2 kids climbed it and each kid that climbed got to have 2 turns on it. They had so much fun! I even climbed it and made it all the way to the top. I thoroughly enjoyed it! :) There were even a few of the older boys who made it to the top. It was tons of fun!

I was so proud of Kylie trying to climb up it too! The poor girl needs a little more upper body strength, and some weight! When she would fall off the rock, she wasn't heavy enough to have the spring system lower her to the ground! The second time she climbed, she got high enough that the guardsman had to climb up a little bit and grab her harness and pull her back to the ground! :)

Hope all is going well. I haven't been posting much since we were busy with this, and because I can't get the darn pictures to work!

They got to color while they waited for all the
kids to arrive in the morning

10 Months!

ADDED PHOTOS

Sidney is 10 months old! My friend Colleen said it best about her 10 month old, Eddie, over in her blog.  "The fact that Eddie is 10 months old does not shock me as much as the concept that he is only 2 months from being 1." (except substitute Sidney for Eddie and she for he!) :)

Her stats are:
Weight: ~ 16.6 pounds. - so she is up in weight from her 9 month weight. Yea!
Height:  ~ 28.5 inches. Still growing tall!

looking at baby books; she is half an inch SHORTER than Kylie was at 10 months and about 1.5 pounds LIGHTER.....hmmm....is my Sidney going to be even more petite than Kylie, or did Kylie have a growth spurt at 10 months?
Someone did ask me today if Sidney was about 6 months old......I don't think she looks THAT small! Does she?

Teeth: still only 2....I am starting to wonder.

Sleeps: like a champ and still takes 2-3 naps a day....ahh, bliss. - if only Kylie would nap....*sigh*

Food: LOVES self-feeding and after losing almost half a pound and not really wanting to breastfeed at all, she fully switched to formula on the 21st. She is perfectly ok with it and gets pretty excited when she sees a bottle and gets a little anxious if I don't get it to her fast enough!

Walking: She is almost there! She has stood alone multiple times for a few seconds each time! And she can easily walk across the room holding onto just one of my fingers, nothing else helping her. If she is holding a finger in each of her hands she can almost "run" across the room. She gets so excited to be moving!

She loves playing with Kylie and chasing her all over the house. Most of the time Kylie does a really great job of playing nice with her. It is so cute to watch sometimes. :)

For her 10 month pics I put her in the same onesie Kylie wore for her 10 month picture in her baby book. The only problem....Sidney refused to be still and sit nice for even one photo....So my attempt at a similar photo didn't turn out so well. But they will still be good baby book photos to show how crazy my little lady is! :)

- ANNNND of course, I can't get pics to upload.....I may end up going to the library to upload the photos to the blog later this week. I still can't figure out why it isn't working...I'm sorry. :(

She figured out how to crawl up onto this
and was SO excited

First Campout!

PICTURES ADDED

Mike had Friday and Saturday off and we couldn't decide if we wanted to go camping like we have wanted to all summer or if we should make the shopping run that we have needed to do these past few weeks. (oh my, have our shelves and freezers been empty!)

We decided to do both! We drove up to Cody Friday morning and then drove around the Shoshone National Forest looking at different campgrounds until we found a good one for us. I think I have been spoiled growing up in the Midwest where campgrounds have grass everywhere. The first 3 campgrounds we went to had nothing but rocks to set up on. I think they were catering to the RVers. But we eventually found one that had a decent grass spot and was along the river.

We set up camp and then ran to town to pick up a few groceries and then went back to relax for the night. We had a yummy supper and Kylie got to play in the river for a little bit. Sidney greatly enjoyed getting to crawl around and play in the dirt! The smores tasted exceptionally delicious that night.
The clouds were starting to roll in around bed time, so we picked things up and hopped in the tent just in time for a short 5 minute shower to blow through.

Sidney refused to fall asleep in the tent and also refused to stay in one spot in the tent. I eventually took her out for a little walk and ended up rocking her to sleep. I have no idea how long she actually slept alone, but at some point I ended up giving up and more or less holding her in my arms as we slept for the rest of the night. Which also resulted in me losing the majority of my pillow to her. Needless to say....I did not sleep well. She slept alright though. As did Kylie. But I will say 60* is a lot cooler than I thought it would be. And we will be packing more bedtime warmth the next time we go camping!

Once Kylie finally woke up and had some breakfast we broke down camp and packed up. On our way back to Cody we stopped at the Buffalo Bill Dam. Kylie thought it was pretty neat and also asked if some beavers lived there. :)

We got back to Cody and had lunch then did some shopping. It was a fast weekend, but it was nice to get out of Worland for a little bit.

The county fair is this week here in Worland. Hoping to get there once and get Kylie on a couple rides. She should be plenty tall enough to get on some of them at least. :)

Hope you had a good weekend too!

Random Fun

Here are some pictures from the past few days.

Thursday we had playgroup at one of the mom's houses. Water balloons, pool, sprinkler, swingset, water table, kitty cat, watermelon and trampoline. All the kids had a great time.
Mmmm...Watermelon

attempting to take a playgroup group photo of the kids...
yeah right. I know the 2 babies are out of the pic,
and possibly 1 other kid....
the number of kids each week varies WIDELY
:)

Thursday night the hospital was having a celebration that we went to. Cake and ice cream. Then a bunch of little kid games. Kylie had a fabulous time and we saw some people we knew so we got to hang out with them too. That was nice.

Not really feeling her ice cream and cake....:)

Sidney loved the cake though!

Hmmm....

Friday night we went to supper at a playgroup family's house. It was suppose to be me and the girls and her, her husband and their two girls. But her husband got called out Friday morning to go to the fire down by Casper. He works at the BLM like Mike as a Range Management Specialist. But us 6 girls had a nice girls night.

she try beets and mandarin oranges for
the first time for lunch yesterday.
She approves of both!

When we got home from our supper date this nice looking
guy and another small guy were hanging out by the
house. (sorry the pic is soo blurry)

Today was the town's parade. Celebrating 100 years. It was very long, and VERY hot. Thankfully quite a few floats were passing out those icee pops and one float passed out pop and another handed out water. There was a whole lot of candy tossed out too. Kylie got quite the collection.

Sidney laid back through the whole parade and
drank the whole cup of water.
It was hot!! and she was tired!

Kylie sitting with her friends.
We also enjoyed a couple of strawberry fruit bars from
that Schwans truck after the parade!
Delicous!

Getting some candy

After the parade there was a luncheon out at the fairgrounds. It was alright, the people selling stuff didn't plan very well and didn't have enough food, but we got a little something to eat. Then Kylie got to get her face painted, for the second time in 3 days. She was pretty stoked. The lady was pretty impressed with how well she sat still for it too. Especially since she got a whole face full!

Pretty girl!

That was our week. Mike should be home tomorrow....unless he got moved to that fire down there and I don't know about it. There is no cell service where he is down cutting.

I called his cell tonight to leave a message about the fabulous song Kylie was singing in the tub tonight. It was turned off. He'll have a pretty hilarious message when he turns it on. :)

Her song went something like this:
" I want my daddy. I want my daddy.
You know what his name is.
His name is Michael.
My name is Kylie Jean.
...."

It was so cute and just hilarious! :) I wish I had the video camera going for it!

Hope you are all having a good weekend!
