Snow Fun

Kylie has had two cancelled school days due to snow, and we had a big snow on Christmas. So the girls have gotten to play out it in a bit. Sadly, ever since Christmas it has been really cold and we haven't had the gumption to go out and play in the below zero wind chills! :)

Here are some pictures from playing out in the snow.

Kylie in her fox hat/scarf combo....what is the correct term for these?

Sidney's wolf is a little too big for her still.... :)

Yay for dads taking snow days too and staying home to play with the girls
and pull them around on the sled!

The girls insisted on sledding down this tiny hill....

Warming up with cocoa and marshmallows!

Kylie really wanted to build a little hideaway of sorts in the snow....
so she picked there and started digging, while Mike built up the sides with all the driveway snow.

Then Kylie really wanted to take pictures. :)

Family shot!

The slide is a big hit with all the snow since they go a bit faster with their snowpants on! :)

Even the cats love digging and playing in the snow.....they are so weird!

I hope you've gotten to go play in some snow and that the temperatures are a lot nicer where you are!!

St. Nicks Day

The girls' had a good St. Nick's day.

I hope you all did too! :)

They both found some yummy goodies and they each got a book from St. Nick. Kylie also scored a pair of slippers and Sidney got a deer doll that she suddenly had been insisting that she needed. :)
They both were pretty excited.

Tree decorating and Gingerbread Houses

This year I said, Forget it, we are buying a tree from the store. I didn't really want to, but I wasn't really feeling cutting down a ponderosa pine for our tree this year. :)

We got a really nice one and got it set up. It only took a few sprays with the water bottle before the cats realized it was not for them. They had 5 or so ornaments down after the first night, and only 1 the second night. I saw Ember attempt to climb the tree once, but some water deterred her from really going far. I would say we are incredibly lucky they have listened and have left it alone. :)

Mike and I strung the lights and the girls did all the ornaments. :) I think our tree looked pretty good this year. :)

We let the kitties sniff out the tree. As long as they didn't try to chew it or climb it, they
didn't get sprayed with water. :)

We also went and watched the parade of lights the first weekend of Dec too.
It was cold. But the girls had a blast and got some fun things and candy too. :)

We also hung the lights on the house that day too..... not quite what I originally planned, but it still looks good. :)

We also made a little gingerbread village this year. I wanted to do a big house like usual, but all the kits at the store already had the house assembled, so we just got a little village kit so that we can assemble them ourselves. :)
