Kid Rodeo and Rodeo

During the Washakie County Fair they put on a kid rodeo in the morning and then a full rodeo at night. A friend was telling us that the kid rodeo is actually pretty fun to participate in, so I decided to take the kids to it.

The things Kylie could participate in were mutton busting (sheep riding) and horse stick races.
She wanted to do both. She didn't make it very long on the sheep, and it totally stepped on her when she fell off, but she said she had tons of fun! I only got a 2 second video of her that is pretty much worthless because they were a little unorganized and I didn't know she was going to go. :(

The stick horse races were fun too. She took 4th place for her age group and she got $1 and got to pick a prize from a stash of toys. So she walked away with a pretty snazzy princess paper doll kit.

Sidney was lined up to race her stick horse, but she wanted nothing to do with it and ended up not racing. :) oh well.

After going home and resting up for the afternoon we headed back to the fair grounds for the rodeo.
It was tons of fun and Kylie got some more arena action too. Halfway through, they tape a bunch of money to a cow and let it loose in the arena. Kylie joined the kids in the 11 and under age group and chased it around trying to get money off it. :)

So happy when she got back to us! :)

She didn't get any, but had fun chasing it. Sidney and I were waiting inside the arena with another mom and we got more cow action than half the kids when it came and almost knocked us to the ground! The other mom knocked some money off it and I snagged a $1 for Kylie since she worked so hard. :)

We also filled the night with cotton candy, pizza, strawberry lemonade, and glow sticks. It was a fun, but long day!
