Trick or Treat!

After almost begging Kylie to eat her one square of homemade pizza, we headed to town to do some trick or treating! Kylie was too excited about getting candy to focus on eating some supper. Sidney on the other hand, ate 3 whole squares of pizza before we left for town!

First we headed downtown to all the businesses that were handing out candy. Kylie got shy right away of course, but eventually warmed up to it. Sidney had no idea what she got thrown into, and was a little terrified at first! She eventually figured out though that people were giving her things to eat! She then proceeded to go to each place and point at their bucket of goodies until they gave her some. :) She also refused to let go of her little bag of goodies. I think she was afraid she wouldn't get it back! :)

After downtown, we went to a couple of friends/mike's coworkers houses and then the houses that were light up around them. One of our friends made cookies that day and they were the cutest little owl cookies! After a total of 1.5 hours, we called it a night. Kylie wanted to keep going, but Sidney was done and between the two girls, they got plenty for their little bodies!

Here are some photos of our little princess and our little ladybug!

Earlier in the day, I was trying to get a new sibling picture of the girls. The first spot I tried, it was too bright for Kylie, and the second spot, Sidney never looked at the camera. Except once....when Kylie shut her eyes....sigh. It was too much work to try any more. Maybe this weekend...
But a couple of them were still kinda cute.

When we moved over to the second spot, I couldn't get Kylie to smile. So I told her to giggle....she took it a little too much to heart for the rest of the photos I took. :)

Sidney wondering what on earth her sister is laughing at

Sidney still wondering...

A good look at Sidney, and Kylie's closed eyes...sigh

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! We sure did! Today was the Halloween party at Joy School. It was quite the experience with 9 kids aged 1-6. Yikes. Will post photos later of the fun and of my "fabulous" ghost piƱata! :)

10-30-13

Yesterday was a pretty busy day.
We had library, Sidney turned 13 months, we made (in kylie's eyes) a fun supper, and we carved pumpkins.

Library:
Our librarian told us last week, that the kids could wear their costumes to library this week if they wanted. We were the sixth family there, and the first ones to show up in costumes (just Kylie). That poor girl felt a little out of place! But then the last 6 families that showed up all had their kids dressed up. That was better!
They listened to a couple of Halloween stories and then got to make a treat!
Sidney decided to walk eye first into the table...sigh

getting directions, note the other snow white...
I also saw two babies as snow white too.
I imagine it is pretty popular every year though.

Sidney is also 13 months. I have no real information....totally lacking this month.
She is pretty good at walking now, but still doesn't really look where she is going. She still only says "dada", but can sign "eat", "more" and "milk". - When she wants to. :) She loves to laugh, and more often then not, she loves being with her sister. :)

For supper last night we made mummy dogs. Kylie had fun wrapping them all up. And eating them. :)

Sidney got to celebrate turning 13 months by getting
to eat her first taste of hot dog. :) She approves, of course.

Kylie loved supper too.

After we cleaned up supper we got out all the pumpkins and starting cleaning them out and carving them up. Sidney thought they were slightly amusing, and focused very hard, the majority of the time, at just playing with the seeds. She did manage to smile once when I gave her a scoop to play with.

Kylie wanted to make the witch again this year..
next year she says she is going to carve hers, she was
pretty bummed she couldn't put a candle in her pumpkin
since there were no holes for the light to shine through. :)

Spoons, Outside Fun and Library Hour

Last week I let Sidney use a spoon a couple of times to eat her oatmeal. She did pretty good. I was impressed! She was also pretty excited about the whole concept too!

It was also warm enough last week to spend some time outside! It had been awhile since we actually played out in the yard. Sidney even did a great job when we went for a (short) walk. From the house to the starting edge of the field near our house, (the end of the big metal shop, for those of you who have been here).
Sidney is just like her big sister and just like certain other family members and seems to have a love for rocks.....*sigh*. I guess I better make more room for the rock collection that Kylie already has spread out on the porch!
And I just realized, I have no pictures of Kylie to add for this outside part. Oops!

Last week at story hour at the library, a man from the local bee/honey making place came to talk to the kids about bees and honey.
It was pretty neat. The kids got to see a beekeeper outfit, see some wax, a giant jar of honey and the coolest part....a queen bee. He brought it along in a little cage and passed it around for everyone to see. The kids found that to be pretty awesome. The kids thought he was a little silly when he was teaching them the bee dance and started shaking his booty at the kids, trying to get them to shake their booties too. It was pretty funny.
He also made the kids day when he gave them each a couple sticks of honey to eat. Kylie was pretty stoked and we then went home and made peanut butter and honey toast for lunch. :)

Can't see her, but I promise, she is in there.

Loving her honey stick!

Sidney was also pretty sick Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday. She had a fever for three days and napped for just over 5 hours on Saturday. She woke up perfectly fine this morning though! Thankfully! I've had a head cold since Friday, and Kylie caught it yesterday. Hopefully we both get over it soon! Even Mike wasn't feeling well yesterday and today. Hopefully we are getting this out of our systems before our 2 month vacation and we aren't sick while we are back home!!  9 days until we leave! - wow...I better get to work organizing some serious packing I think......4 people, gone from home for 2 months....hmmm. This might take some serious planning on the packing part!

Anyways - Hope you all had a great weekend and your week is off to a good start! Can't wait to get pictures of the girls in the Halloween costumes later this week!
