Viking/Packer Game

For Christmas this year, Mike's parents got us kids tickets to the Viking/Packer game this past weekend.
We all put on many many layers of clothes and headed out for some friendly rivalry. (I may or may not have gotten slightly obnoxious during overtime!) :)

We all had a lot of fun and everyone at the stadium was a little somber after the game. We were all in awe I think that it ended it tie. Football games shouldn't end in ties.

Here are a few pictures from the game!

It was so much fun and much more enjoyable than my first Viking/Packer game at Lambeau where the Vikings got slaughtered!

Looking forward to everyone coming back tonight and tomorrow and enjoying a full house for Thanksgiving!

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

MN Deer Season

The first leg of our super long vacation was to my family's hunting shack for the MN deer season. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty excited to go deer hunting. It had been a long time!
Opening day was Crazy windy, but I saw 2 bucks that morning. It had been 2 years since I'd gone hunting, and about 5 years since I've even shot a deer. We saw nothing that afternoon, but I was still pumped to go out Sunday. I got a 6 pointer Sunday morning! :) Yea!

Thank goodness I got that buck that morning, because Sunday mid-morning, the first of all the people at the shack got hit with a nasty bug, and by 2pm 3 of us had it. By the middle of the night, everyone (except my Uncle Tom and Sidney) was sick. Thankfully, it was between a 12-24 hour bug, and we were all pretty much back to normal pretty quickly.

I didn't go back out hunting again, until the end of the week, and I got a little spike buck Friday night. Saturday morning Mike got his first Minnesota deer, a nice big doe. Saturday night, Jake, a family friend that hunts with us, also got a nice doe. One of my uncles shot a doe and a fawn opening day, so we ended up with 6 deer. So that was pretty nice. Lots of meat for the freezer. Looking forward to eating that all up.

After we left the shack we visited my grandmother and then spent the night at my other grandparents. It was so nice to catch up with them all, and grandma made some serious good food. :)

Finished up the last stretch of the trip and got to Wisconsin this past Tuesday. Most of Mike's immediate family got here last night. SOO good to see them all.

Hope all is going well with everyone!!

Joy School Halloween Party

Joy School meets on Tuesdays and Fridays. So, we decided to hold the school Halloween party the day after Halloween. That was cool with the kids, one more day to wear their costumes!

Each of us moms made some sort of activity or treat for the kids. There are only 4 of us families involved with school right now, but we still had lots of stuff to do during the party. It was quite the entertaining party. Especially with a bunch of little ones!

Here are some pictures from our fun party!
(I took LOTS of pictures....but I'm only posting the pics of the girls. lots of pics!)

bobbing for apples

I got one!
And Sidney reaching in for her own!

Sidney wondering why she can't go face first into
the bucket of water. :)

Sidney got one too! (with her hands!) :)

eating a donut off a string

She grabbed the string once, but did really good otherwise!

She spent most of the party wandering around
with an apple, and when I would look at her, she would stop,
lean over and smile like crazy. :)

Such a little ham at times! :)

Sidney's turn to eat a donut on a string.....She wasn't
good at all about not touching it. :)

Big bite!

This is delicious mom! Why haven't I had one of
these yet?!

Going fishing.

Sidney's turn

The mom hosting the party, made these awesome
mummy juice boxes to go with the jack-o-lantern designed pizzas

Sidney sat great in a big girl booster and
ate a whole slice of pizza all by herself.

I made. :)

Kylie's turn

Each kid got to hit the piñata twice, before we let the oldest kid go to town on it and take it out. They had a lot of fun smacking it!
I filled it with some Halloween fruit snacks, granola bars, dum-dums, monster stickers, and a giant chocolate bar for each child.
They all seemed happy with their loot. :)

Hope you guys had a good weekend. Sorry to you Wisconsinites on your Packer loss tonight. I do sincerely hope though, that Rodgers gets back in it next week.

I have so much to do the next two days before we leave! I'm getting pretty excited to get back home and go deer hunting! Yea! It has been much too long! And to see all our family! It has been much too long for that as well!

Have a good week!

Trick or Treat!

After almost begging Kylie to eat her one square of homemade pizza, we headed to town to do some trick or treating! Kylie was too excited about getting candy to focus on eating some supper. Sidney on the other hand, ate 3 whole squares of pizza before we left for town!

First we headed downtown to all the businesses that were handing out candy. Kylie got shy right away of course, but eventually warmed up to it. Sidney had no idea what she got thrown into, and was a little terrified at first! She eventually figured out though that people were giving her things to eat! She then proceeded to go to each place and point at their bucket of goodies until they gave her some. :) She also refused to let go of her little bag of goodies. I think she was afraid she wouldn't get it back! :)

After downtown, we went to a couple of friends/mike's coworkers houses and then the houses that were light up around them. One of our friends made cookies that day and they were the cutest little owl cookies! After a total of 1.5 hours, we called it a night. Kylie wanted to keep going, but Sidney was done and between the two girls, they got plenty for their little bodies!

Here are some photos of our little princess and our little ladybug!

Earlier in the day, I was trying to get a new sibling picture of the girls. The first spot I tried, it was too bright for Kylie, and the second spot, Sidney never looked at the camera. Except once....when Kylie shut her eyes....sigh. It was too much work to try any more. Maybe this weekend...
But a couple of them were still kinda cute.

When we moved over to the second spot, I couldn't get Kylie to smile. So I told her to giggle....she took it a little too much to heart for the rest of the photos I took. :)

The first one

Sidney wondering what on earth her sister is laughing at

Sidney still wondering...

A good look at Sidney, and Kylie's closed eyes...sigh

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! We sure did! Today was the Halloween party at Joy School. It was quite the experience with 9 kids aged 1-6. Yikes. Will post photos later of the fun and of my "fabulous" ghost piñata! :)
