Sidney - 11 months!

UPDATED WITH PICTURES!

I only have one month until I no longer have a baby. I can't believe she is almost to the toddler stage! I can believe it in one way though....she can't sit still!

She is constantly crawling everywhere and climbing up everything! Her new favorite trick is to climb up into her blue rocker chair, turn around and plop down and sit there. With this pleased as punch look on her face. It is so cute. If the chair is close enough to either couch, she can also crawl from it and onto the couch....this doesn't please mom too much. I'm waiting for her to now fall from the couch!

She is also getting adventurous outside and has discovered that she can crawl up the slide. That little girl is going to be trouble.

And as much as Sidney is like a dog, carries toys & cups in her mouth, comes when you call her, and drools like crazy, she is also kinda like a cat in the fact that she has recently discovered how fun it is to just sit and stare out the window. If I have the blue chair in front of the window, she will crawl into it and just look out the window, babbling in excitement! :) (it reminds me of my one cat who would sit on the back of the chair and chatter at the birds outside the window!)

We were wrong in guessing that she'd be walking by 11 months. She isn't yet. She will attempt to take one step if we let go of her, but then she just falls to the ground and starts crawling the rest of the way. I'll bet again though that she will be walking before her 1st birthday!

She doesn't talk much yet with words, but still screams, squeals and babbles like crazy. I can see how she might end up taking a little while to use words....Kylie is already talking for her. Sidney has started pointing like crazy this past week though. She will point at a couple of things if I ask her where the light is or where are the cows. She really likes the cows.

I'm still signing as much as I can with her. Still waiting for her to sign back though. I don't think Kylie signed back to me until after a year though....I'd have to look it up.

I totally thought that today was the 30th, not yesterday, so these stats are from today.
She is up to 18.5 pounds. Whoo Hoo! She gained weight! 2 pounds in a month! must be the formula!
And she is still around 28.5 inches.

I went through a box of Kylie's old clothes the other night and got out all the 12-18 month stuff. I need to get through Sidney's dresser though and take out the 3-6 month stuff. She is finally too big for most of that stuff. Isn't that sad...she can still wear some 3-6 month stuff! (it's gotta be the clothing manufacturing differences between brands!)

She finally has a top tooth! It broke through on the 16th. She has been drooling like crazy! So we are up to 3 teeth now! Maybe she will have 4 by the time she is one!

We are going to buy her a new carseat so she has a bigger, probably more comfortable one for our trip out to OR in a few weeks. Her feet are already dangling out the end of her infant carseat. I think I am more excited for it than she will be though!

Sidney's favorite thing to do these days, besides climbing, is to take things out of containers and put them into other containers. I love watching her do this....you can just see the wheels turning in her head and she figures out how to get things where she wants them. I can't believe how fast they learn things and grow up....as evidence of my 4 year old!

Hope all is going well with everyone!

Got caught that morning with the Kleenex box!

She was just waaay too excited for pictures

Kylie - 4 years old!

UPDATED WITH PICTURES!!

My first baby is FOUR years old. I can't believe how fast these years have gone! She has become such an independent little lady. She has also developed a little attitude - probably from spending a little too much time with her momma. :)
She loves singing, and dancing, and ladybugs and butterflies. She loves playing outside and loves to swing! Coloring and doing crafts/school stuff with mom are high up on her favorite list too.

She had a small birthday party on the 25th. Invited a few playgroup friends over to play. I had two games, pin the wing on the butterfly and a piñata, but the kids didn't really care too much about them. They were having more fun just playing with each other. Which was just fine too.

They got to have some juice boxes (which they were a lot more excited about than I thought they would be) and then we got to have some cake and ice cream after they all sang happy birthday to her.
I made the piñata and it took them a little longer to break it open than I hoped, but they eventually got it and enjoyed picking up the candy, stickers and rings that I filled it with. They all loved their goodie bags and were pretty excited about the butterfly wings they got to take home with them. (Thank goodness for the Dollar Tree!!)

After a couple of hours of playing, everyone started going home. Kylie got to open up a few presents before supper and then we went and had supper. I asked her what she wanted.....she chose McDonalds. oh well. She also wanted to make sure we could eat it out. Usually if we get something to eat from town, we bring it home to eat. She really wanted to eat it in town. So we did. Then we came home and she got to open the rest of her presents. She had quite a few to open, and she loved everything!

Thanks to everyone who sent her some stuff! She spent the rest of the night playing with everything she got while she waited, not so patiently, for her mother to put together her pink and purple shopping cart. (Oh man, that was harder than it should have been!)

She had a wonderful day and so did I. I still can't believe she is 4. I have less then a year until she is in kindergarten. What am I going to do when that happens?!

I took her 4 year pictures earlier this week and got them all done. She gave me a couple of cute poses.
Can't wait till I get some printed for myself and put up in the house!

- of course I still haven't gotten the computer fixed. But I promise it will get fixed in the next few weeks. I will then go back and add pictures to the past few posts and get everything updated! -

I love her pictures! My most favorite is the second one, it truly shows her personality. Even though you can't see her face! :)

VBS

UPDATED WITH PICTURES!

This past week the girls and I have been at Vacation Bible School at our church. Kylie had a wonderful time and it has been so much fun listening to her every night attempting to sing all the songs she learned that day. It is SO Cute!

Sidney handled it very well. She thankfully would let others hold her for a few minutes so I could get something done and she even took hour long (or longer) naps each day in the church nursery! Yea! There were so many songs sung, games played, snacks had, and crafts made. It was fun.

The theme this year was Tell It On The Mountain. So the whole idea of how climbing gear keeps you safe and secure while climbing, so God keeps you safe & secure in your life.

We had tents and mountains and rocks everywhere and the last day the National Guard came and set up their climbing wall. I lot taller than I thought it would be, since we had 4yr olds - 5th graders. But all but 2 kids climbed it and each kid that climbed got to have 2 turns on it. They had so much fun! I even climbed it and made it all the way to the top. I thoroughly enjoyed it! :) There were even a few of the older boys who made it to the top. It was tons of fun!

I was so proud of Kylie trying to climb up it too! The poor girl needs a little more upper body strength, and some weight! When she would fall off the rock, she wasn't heavy enough to have the spring system lower her to the ground! The second time she climbed, she got high enough that the guardsman had to climb up a little bit and grab her harness and pull her back to the ground! :)

Hope all is going well. I haven't been posting much since we were busy with this, and because I can't get the darn pictures to work!
