Crazy week

WARNING - LOTS OF PICTURES!!

It has been a very long week. The weather has been very bipolar as well, making things just depressing around here. I imagine next week will be just as bad since Mike will be up in Cody all week for a class and the temps are only suppose to be in the 30s.

Not a whole lot has happened around here lately.

Last weekend Mike and I subjected ourselves to a little manual labor inorder to bury the satellite cable from the house out to the back of the garage. It surprising only took a couple of hours and we only had minor malfunctions getting the satellite working again

Kylie and I spent some time playing in the snow one day, even though it was really cold and I am sure the wind chill was pretty low. She had fun though.

The girls and I also hit up story time at the library and playgroup.

The house was sprayed around the inside and in the basement for bugs, again; and will get sprayed inside again in 2 weeks (hopefully before family gets here). And hopefully will be sprayed outside the house as soon as we get some decent weather.

Sidney got her 6 month shots on the 11th. She did magnificently. Didn't even cry for the first shot and only cried a little for the second two. She was done before we even left the room.

Sidney is horrible at eating cereal, so I haven't really been giving her much solids. She just doesn't seem to be able to handle it.
I did attempt to give her some green beans that I pureed myself Friday night. She wanted nothing to do with them and was probably thinking "What is wrong with you Mom?".  I don't think I got them pureed up enough. Will have to figure out how to get them a little smoother.
I then made her some cereal. It was cold. She also refused that. I heated it up, and she devoured it. Well, at least what was left after she knocked the bowl out of my hand and spilled half of it.
We really need to get a high chair. I think that would solve most of our problems. (she currently sits in her bumbo when I feed her)
I also think she is going to be more of a self feeder. Not wanting any help. Maybe we will try some egg yolk or something and see how she does feeding herself.

Yesterday Kylie played with the neighbor kids. Their mom, Jen, was avoiding doing some housework and coming up with random games for the kids to play. I also got to throw the ball to their dog, Otis, a few times. He still won't let me pet him much, but we are getting closer. He is straight up terrified of Mike, so I feel pretty good that I get to play with him. :)

Here are a bunch of random pictures from this past week.

Annnnnnd She's Walking!

Just Kidding! :)

BUT, when you hold your hands out, she will reach out, grab them, and pull herself up. She will then proceed to "walk" towards you.

She started doing this today. We found it pretty exciting. :)

I was looking at baby books the other day and Kylie would walk when you held her hands about a month before she started crawling. If Sidney is on a similar path, she may or may not be crawling before the month is over!

Crazy to think about!!

Will try to get video of this soon and post for your viewing pleasure!

The Countdown Begins!

As most of you know, Sidney is getting baptized at the end of the month. 3 years and 3 days after the day Kylie got baptized.

We are really looking forward to having a bunch of the family come out and visit.

We are so excited, Kylie & I made a paper chain the other day to count down the days left before the first family members get here. (Chris & Dena win for the first ones coming; even if we might not get to see them that night depending on their flight timing!)

Kylie was pretty excited. She has been reminding me each morning to take off a chain so that we can count the new number of days.

It has also been a good reminder to me of how many days left Mike and I have to get this place in order!!

Here are a few pictures of Kylie helping make the paper chain.

For those counting, there are 21 days left! (we are counting to the 25th).
22 days left for the rest of you! :)

SEE YOU SOON!!!

Sidney 6 month stats

For any of you wondering....

Sidney had her six month check up yesterday. Everything looked good.
My scale must be a little off, and my measuring tape must have been in the wrong spot. :)

They weighed her in at 16 pounds 4 ounces, putting her at just above the 50th percentile. Her height was 26 inches, putting her at the 50th percentile. Her head was 41 cm. That is only the 25th percentile. She has a little head!

Looking back just 2 months ago, her weight was up in the 95th percentile and her height was in the 75th percentile. I am wondering if she is going to have a growth spurt soon to get back to where she was the first 5 months or if she is going to stay down here.

I was comparing Sidney and Kylie's month to month info this morning. Sidney is only about a pound bigger and about an inch longer at each month than Kylie was. Which makes sense since Sidney was exactly a pound bigger and 1.5 inches longer at birth.

Anyways...there is my little randomness for this morning. The girls are finally starting to wake up, so I best go tend to them. :)

Kylie/Sid Comparison

So, I totally failed at getting the pictures to be the same size and to be equivalent to each other even with a similar pose. But the first set of comparisons is pretty close.
Info: Kylie: Easter 2010   7 months old
Sidney: Easter 2013   6 months old

What do you guys think?
:)

Who's who?

:)

(FYI....Sidney is on the left, Kylie on the right.)

Have a good week!!

Easter weekend Fun!

What an eventful weekend!

Yesterday the girls got their Easter baskets. Kylie was pretty excited that they both got bunny dolls and she was also excited for all the hair accessories and the new cup she got. Sidney was pretty excited for the paper grass. She may or may not have eaten a small piece. :) I think she was also pretty excited about a new toy she got too though.

We got the girls all dressed up and headed to church. After church we got home and had lunch and let Sidney take a nap. Then we headed outside for some pics.
When we bought our new camera, we bought a tripod to go with it, so we were able to take a new family photo. I also took a couple cute pics of the girls, even though Sidney wouldn't look up.

We colored eggs on Saturday night too. I only made a dozen eggs, but that went by waaaay to fast for Kylie. Should have made some more eggs. :)

We also did an egg hunt for Kylie Sunday afternoon. It was pretty windy out, but she had fun. Sidney enjoyed chewing on some plastic egg as well.  Kylie got a decent amount of loot from her hunt and then got to play outside for a little while.

Here are some pics from our weekend.

We had a great weekend, hope you all did too!

-Sidney wore the dress Kylie did for her first Easter. I am hoping to put the pics side by side to compare their look. Anticipate a blog post sooner or later that shows those pics. :)
