Well, we had taken the training wheels off of Kylie's bike and I was refusing to put them back on for her. So eventually, she figured it out and can officially ride her bike now with no training wheels!
Yea!!
She learned first on a tiny bike (Sidney sized) and then got the courage to try it on her bike. Needless to say, her legs were both completely covered from ankle to thigh with bruises from her trying to figure out how to stop and keep her feet on the pedals. But she is pretty good at it all now.
Sidney even finally figured out how to ride the tricycle by herself. Yea!
And then within a week or so, she wanted on the big kid bike, so we put the training wheels on the little bike and she had that mastered with in a day or so. Double Yea!
Some friends of ours here gave us their boys' old Stride Rite bike, so I'm hoping if Sidney keeps using that one, she will be able to catch on to using a regular bike a little faster once the training wheels come off! :)
Here are some pictures & videos of the girls!
Disclaimer - - Yes, I know they weren't wearing helmets. Kylie's was packed in a box and we hadn't found it yet and Sidney didn't have one. Since these have been taken - - both girls have new, properly fitting helmets to wear now.
:)
concentrating hard!
She loved practicing in the alley while we worked in the garage.
-one nice thing is that we are the only house for our half of the block that has an
alley entrance to our garage/property, so we have very little vehicle traffic in the alley!
So stinking cute!
Looking pretty snazzy on her big kid bike.
during a walk one night.....with Kylie waay ahead already up at our house.
I tried to load some videos from my phone, but they wouldn't work. :(
Sorry!
