Bowling League!

Kylie brought home a flyer about kids league bowling last week and was pretty interested in it. So we checked into it and ended up signing her up for it. She would be in the Bantam league, of 5-8 year olds.

Well, the first day was yesterday, and it was utter chaos. Once all the kids checked in, they sat down and two people went over some rules and safety info. Then they just said, make teams and sit down. Well, it was a complete mess. Then once they finally got all the kids started bowling, one mom was trying to fix something on Kylie's team's computer, and ended up checking something that makes it skip two of the 3 kids on her team. So Kylie and the other girl just sat there patiently for 3.5 frames until they finally fixed it and got to catch up. They also didn't inform the kids that they have to switch lanes each time they go, so that caused a few issues now and then as well.

BUT - she had fun, was always smiling, and showed incredibly patience waiting for her turn.....not sure where she gets that patience from.......

They didn't have bumpers up, which I was surprised at, but I guess they will never learn to throw straight if they know the bumpers are there.

There was only one guy down on the floor helping the kids and teaching them things though. I really would have expected there to be a little more in the "training" aspect of it, especially for the kids who've never really done it before.

The guy that was helping the kids came up and talked to Mike & I though and told us that he was impressed at how well Kylie listens and then does what she was told/taught. He was also impressed with how well she could throw the ball with how little she is. (She might have been the smallest girl there.) He told us not to let her quit. :)

The first game she managed a 20 and then the second game she got to 40 points. I'd call any points a success for her first game with out bumpers. She even got a spare in her first game. :)

She had a great time, was sad we didn't get supper at the bowling alley, but we told her next week we would. Next week, we can't watch her bowl for half of it since we have our first parent-teacher conference! Yikes!

Here are some pictures from her first Bantam Bowling experience. :)

You really can't see this at all, can you. Sorry.
She is the bottom bowler. Score of 20!

I feel like the ball is twice the size of her head!

Bottom right. Score of 40!

Can't wait till next week!!

Sidney turned 2!

Two years. It went by fast! Sidney is nothing like we ever imagined. We expected another little girl, similar to Kylie. We got the little girl, but she was completely opposite of Kylie, and it has been wonderful!

Sidney is crazy, sneaky, stubborn, loud, determined, a little shy and a little snuggly. And she is just straight up wonderful. I am trying to take it all in because before I know it, she will be off to Kindergarten just like her big sister!

She had her 2 year well check this morning! We weighed her in at 28lbs and measure her at 36 inches. That puts her between 70th & 75th percentile for weight and at the 95th percentile for height. So, still taller than heavier and the doc was happy. She talks wonderfully and has quite the vocabulary! She loves to randomly bust out in song...similar to her sister, and she, sadly, has developed quite the fondness for TV. Her favorite show at the moment is Doc McStuffins. And listening to her say "Doc McStuffins" is absolutely fabulous. :)

She still has her nuk (pacifier) and we are pretty sure she is going to be pretty hard to be broken of it. Much harder than her big sister was.

We haven't really tried hard at attempting potty training. She doesn't seem to really be big on the idea yet, and I can't convince her to sit on the potty for more than 5 seconds anyways. It will come in due time....I hope.

We have also been contemplating taking the side of her crib off so she can have a "big kid" bed. She is such a good sleeper that I think she would be fine with it, but I also don't know if once it is gone, she will be out of her bed all night. She hasn't attempted trying to crawl out of her crib yet and seems to have no interest in trying to crawl out, but she also loves to lay in Kylie's big bed at night while we sing before getting put in her bed. Who knows what we'll do!

We opened presents as just the four of us, and had a toddler approved dinner of cheddar dogs and mac & cheese for supper. A little later, friends of ours came over and had cake with us. The second they got here Sidney got all shy and hid from them and wouldn't even unhide her face while we sang happy birthday to her. :) Even though she knows them pretty well.

Her cake wasn't as totally cool as Kylie's was, but it was still fun. We had an aqua/pink flower theme going on. I had my first attempt at making fondant, and it turned out amazing! (more than one person outside the family approved it, so I knew it was good!) And the colors even turned out and matched everything too! :) And since Sidney couldn't really argue with me too much about it, I got to pick the cake flavor. So we went with chocolate. :)

She had a wonderful day and enjoyed all her presents! Thanks to everyone who sent stuff!

Here are a bunch of pictures.
And maybe I'll get videos up later too! The cutest part was when she would keep saying...."My birthday, my presents" "My birthday". I think she enjoyed it all!

 "A boot!"

She was a big fan of the bubble wrap as well. :)

I love the look of "What is this?" on her face.

A trike!

Actually playing nicely and not
arguing over the new toy. :)

So Darn Cute!!

Mouth full of fondant flowers.....
She never ate her cupcake, she just kept
picking flowers off the cake! :)

Worland Homecoming

Last week was homecoming for our city and even the grade school kids got to dress differently each day. :) Kylie had fun doing that!

Monday - Pajama Day - She has had this pajama gown for almost 3 years now and still loves to wear it, and was a little sad when I said she had to wear the leggings with it because it was too short to wear to school with out them!

Tuesday - Backwards Day - - forgot to take a pic! But she wore her shirt and her shorts backwards.

Wednesday - Crazy Hair & Silly Sock Day - we opted for a cute version of that day

Thursday - School Spirit Day - Blue & White for East Side Eagles or Black & Orange for the Worland Warriors - - she opted for her East Side Eagle colors.  - Not our originally planned outfit.....Does ANYONE have any idea what happened to her white shorts? They have completely disappeared from our house!! And sorry, the picture is horribly blurry!

Friday - Dress Your Best Day - - it was school picture day for East Side. That shirt is suppose to be long, but it is SO long you can't tell she is wearing shorts! (maybe that means her shorts are too short!) Hmm....anyways. It was so hot on picture day and I already felt bad I chose a long sleeve shirt for pictures, I couldn't consciously put her in pants....thankfully, after pictures they could change their shirts to a orange & black one if they wanted, before they walked downtown to watch the homecoming parade. And thankfully she had a "future warrior" shirt that she could change into, so she didn't look like she forgot to put bottoms on anymore! :)

Sidney wanted to pose with her big sis!
Another blurry pic though, sorry!
